US Attorney Scandal Cheatsheet

In case you haven't been reading a dozen blog posts a day about the simmering US Attorney scandal, Slate has a handy run-down of all the pertinent details [link].

New Music: Andrew Bird

I'm loving this new album, Armchair Apocrypha, by Andrew Bird. You can hear my favorite tune "Imitosis" and other songs on his MySpace page [link].

Kicking a Dead Horse by Sam Shepard

A new play by one of my favorite playwrights, Sam Shepard, opens in Dublin. The Guardian gives it a mixed, yet interesting, review [link].

Another sketch from The Human Giant

Whatever happened to Old Fashioned Fun? This is hilarious [link].

New Sketch Comedy Show

A few of my all time favorite UCB Theater vets, Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer, are starring along with Aziz Ansari in a new sketch comedy show on MTV. Check out two video clips on their website [link].

French short film

i don't know how i stumbled across this, but here's a surprisingly moving French short film [link].

The Andrew Bujalski Movement

Andrew Bujalski, famous for his infuriatingly undramatic indie films, Funny Ha Ha and Mutual Appreciation, has started a new film movement. He's co-starring in what looks to be an equally obnoxious attempt at film-making by Joe Swanberg called Hannah Takes The Stairs [link]. Bujalski has been called the voice of our generation, unfortunately he's a voice with nothing to say, making movies about a generation with nothing to say.

The IT Crowd

I watched the whole first season of this on Google video last year. Check out the first episode of this great British sit-com about a perfectly bizarre IT department [link].

Steve Correll gets drunk

Watch Steve Correll get shit-faced in this classic clip from The Daily Show [link]. Reminds me of someone I know.

The E Generation at 40

Mind Hacks has a post [link] about a new BBC documentary [link] about former users of ecstasy now that some time has past. Turns out that the scare-stories about making holes in your brain weren't true, and the long term effects of the drug a mild at worst.

For all you Japanese TV fans...

Courtesy of VSL [link] comes a blog devoted to the best and most bizarre TV from Japan [link].

Film adaptation of Murakami story

I'm not too familiar with his work, but I know some of my readers are. The new British magazine, Monocle, has an exclusive trailer for a new film adaptation of Haruki Murakami's short story, All God's Children Can Dance [link] (NSFW). It looks pretty interesting.

My Apple prediction gains traction

Kottke [link] points to a new manifestation [link] of the Apple prediction I made back in January [link].

Dylan Hears a Who

I'm not sure what the story is behind this, but regardless it's very amusing. Bob Dylan sings Dr. Seuss stories [link]. h/t Clusterflock
